Carlos Hernandez Rivera is General Director for Gambling Regulation at the Ministry of Finance in Spain. He holds a Law degree from ESADE and State lawyer. He was appointed General Director on 14th June 2013 through Real decree 456/2013.
With a broad experience, he has been working as Deputy General Director of Gambling Regulation at the Ministry of Finance, being responsible for regulatory matters since April 2012. He has previously worked as Lawyer at the National Legal Services in the Barcelona province, Deputy Government Lawyer and Member of the Jury of Expropriation in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Lawyer in charge of the National Legal Services and Member of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority at Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Secretary of the Administrative-Economical Court of Tenerife and, Government Lawyer at the General Sub-directorate for Litigation Services of the Ministry of Justice – Criminal Department in Madrid. In February-March 2012, prior to his post in the Ministry of Finance, he served as Government Lawyer at the Spanish National Court.
